Quartile Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 physics is the study of the interaction between particles, or singular units of mass. would a unifying theory, then, be required to include descriptions of the interactions between people? is this a topic of debate in the science community, especially with regard to string theory?
swansont Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 No. Quantum theory is generally unimportant for macroscopic objects, except under very unusual conditions.
BenTheMan Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Yeah---I think science is a long way from understanding this. The general concesus is that, even if we did completely understand string theory, or some other theory of everything, actually predicting anything with it (along the lines of what you are talking about) would be too difficult, becase of the complexity involved.
