Not sure if this is a legitimate question on these forums

My fiancee is studying chemical and process engineering in Poland and will move here next summer, after we marry and she graduates

She will then need to look for her first job, but there are few places in Dorset where she will be able to work, so it looks like we will have to move

Her main interest is in polymers and brewing beer, but I am trying to push her towards pharmaceuticals or cosmetics, because I think she will always have a job making face creams for women (and men!), but (and don't tell her this) also she can then brew beer at home as a hobby :eyebrow:

Not even knowing anything about her studies, can anybody suggest the best places to find work - websites, companies in Dorset :), anything really, because I have no idea where to start looking

Any help greatly appreciated

Has your wife ever thought about working in an ethanol plant in the midwest? There is a very good market out there for chemical/process engineers, and she'd be making alcohol on large scales!

polymers is a good industry to get into. also, she should be looking for the job herself, not you. she will also know where her strengths lie. whether that be in polymers or cosmetics. there is really no shortage of possibilities, chemical and process engineers can find employment in petrochem, pharmaceuticals, food processing, nuclear industries ore refining, the list goes on and on.

i am probably going to go the petrochemical route but i haven't made up my mind yet.

Hi guys

Apologies for not replying sooner - I've been very busy over the summer period.

Thank you both for the information

The reason I am helping is because she lives in Poland and it is very difficult for her to contact people in the UK, but you are, of course, correct, that it would look much better if she was to find her own job.

As for America, I don't mean any disrespect to the Americans, but, unfortunately, America would let her anywhere near their country without going through the hoops, especially as I am English!

Any other advice would be grateful received
