The singles portion of a tennis court is 27.0 ft wide and 78.0 ft long.

a. If a serve is measured at 185 km/h, how many seconds does it take for the tennis ball to travel the length of the court? (length of the court in meters is 23.8 meters.)

b. How many liters of paint are needed to paint the court if 1 gal of paint covers 150ft^2?

-------------------------

Serving size 0.50 oz (6 crackers)

Fat 4 g per serving, Sodium 140 mg per serving

a. If a box has a net weight (contents only) of 8.0 oz, about how many crackers are in the box?

b. If you ate 10 crackers, how many ounches of fat are you consuming??

-----------------

I just need to know how to approach these problems and what things I need to do to get the answer. If you could help me get the answer, I would really appreciate it^^ ASAP PLEASE THANK YOU

for the first one there are 100 meters in one kilometer so so the balk would be going 18,500 meters per hour you divide that by 3,600 (thats how many seconds are in an hour) to find out how many meters per second it's traveling then divide 23.8 by the meters per second to get your answer. by the way, I'm not sure if there are 100 meters in a kilometer; it might be 1,000

I'll give you the formula for B.

A(area of court)=27 X 78

150/A=gallons of paint needed

For the first one, you need to convert your 185 km/h into seconds (so, multiply it by the number of minutes in an hour, then by the number of seconds in a minute, and you will get the speed as km/second). Then, convert kilometers to meters in a similar way.

For the paint, you need find the square footage of the tennis court by multiplying the length and width. Then, be sure to convert gallons of paint to liters of paint for your response.

For the second question, you need to figure out how many crackers are in an ounce (since there are 6 crackers in 1/2 ounce, how many crackers are there in a full ounce?). If you have 8 ounces, how many crackers is that?

For the fat part, I think the easiest solution would be to find out how much fat is in one cracker (you would divide the amount of fat in one serving by the number of crackers in one serving). From that, you can figure out pretty quickly how much fat is in 10 crackers.

I hope I didn't give away too much. Always remember to try to work with the same units (by conversion).

If I type 60 words per minute, then I type 1 word per second. ;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
for the first one there are 100 meters in one kilometer
Kilo = 1,000
Also, Guest026, don't give answers, especially not wrong answers. Always explain to the poster how they can find the answer on their own. After all, they will need to know how to do it on their own for the test. This was explained to you by other members here just last night.
here are the formulas for the second ones (tell me if you dont understand)
F=fat per serving(4g)
S=sodium per serving(140mg)
A: 6(8(box weight)/0.5(serving size)=?
B: F/6(serving size)=X(grams of fat per cracker)
X multiplied by 10 is your answer.
This time I didn't give him the answer.
oh and never mind cutiexjinax I wss typing this when inow posted his help so you should trust inow over me. Oh, and inow, at the end of my other post I pointed out that I might be wrong so there was no need to correct me (it's actually really sad that I didn't know this especially because I just learned this at school)
You weren't "might be" wrong, you were flat out wrong, and the problem is that you were wrong in your details, details that you should've double checked before posting (easily done in a google search). This is not a discussion post (where guessing or hypothesizing is more lenient), it's a homework question. There's a difference.
And for the second time you're giving answers instead of giving methods. The formulas are available online. The idea on how to do them is the problem.
If you can't answer homework questions, there's no shame in just NOT answering.
