Can anybody point me to a link, or, walk me through the theoretical evolution of the Venus Flytrap (Dionaea muscipula)? Image representations of stages of development would be great.

Well, there was this thing called natural selection, and the plant that was able to eat the insects landing on it did better than those that did not. ;)
