swansont Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 There is certainly a way to calculate this using tension, but I would do it using energies (but since I'm taking physics for the first time since highschool, please double check it.. I'm almost sure this is right, but not 100% sure) Parts b and c specifically ask you for the tension, so that's fine for part a, but you have to break down the forces for the rest of the problem.
