Hades Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 My g/f and i are currently looking for a microscope within the $500 range that is durable, and most importantly has great magnification in terms of clarity. Some microscopes altho in focus, dont always offer the best picture. If anyone has any suggestions i would be very appreciative!!
DeoxyriboNucleicAcid Posted February 21, 2004 Posted February 21, 2004 Oh, very interesting. I too am also looking for a decent microscope, but my friends have just suggested using a laboratory microscope. But i think i understand you feelings, sometimes, we get samples that must be observed urgently and quickly. ANyhow, you should check out sargent welch, they have some good microscopes. http://www.sargentwelch.com is their site, but you should order the catelogue, because the ite is alittle bare on pictures and info.
Hades Posted February 23, 2004 Author Posted February 23, 2004 thank you very much; the option with oil immersion for an additional $100.. still its much under my limit, which of course makes me happy but ill be using this as a price reference.
YT2095 Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 I`de also get one with the option of adding a video camera at a later date. I only have a cheap little 900X optical, but being able to attatch a camera to it and save the pictures to hard drive is a nice little extra
