Ice_Phoenix87 Posted February 21, 2004 Posted February 21, 2004 how do i crystalize this compound i made? Hopefully i will get copper sulfate. I dont have a bunsen burner at home. So i need to use the kitchen(i had to con my mum into letting me ) I have a beaker. Do i heat the mixture to boiling point then let it sit to form crystals or do i evaporate it.
Cookie Posted February 21, 2004 Posted February 21, 2004 You need to supersaturate the solution. Since you probably don't have a lot of the compound, you'll want to just add a small amount of water (just enough so that it will go into solution, not any more!!), then let the solution evaporate slowly over time. YT2095 Posted February 21, 2004 Posted February 21, 2004 put it in an airing cuboard or by a heater, patients is the key to growing large crystals
