dcm18 Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I was hoping someone could help me out with this question..... what is d^2/dx^2((2ax^2-1)(e^-(ax^2)/2)) where a is constant Any guidance would be great thanks
timo Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Hint: Take the 1st derivative with respect to x of the term, then take the 1st derivative of the result. Things you might need to know/use: Chain rule, product rule, derivative of e^x, derivative of 2ax^2. What exactly is your problem?
