Martin Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 The sixth International Conference on Gravitation and Cosmology will be held December 17-21 in India. This is the next conference of this type that I know of (general relativity, gravity, cosmology). Checking out the programs at these conferences is a way to keep track of what professional cosmologists are interested in, talking about, doing research in these days. Here is the homepage http://meghnad.iucaa.ernet.in/~icgc07/index.html Here is the list of plenary speakers. http://meghnad.iucaa.ernet.in/~icgc07/sub/plenary.htm There are 21 plenary speakers listed of which SEVEN are discussing Quantum Gravity. I see that one of the seven is string. Parampreet Singh--- Big Bang Singularity Resolution in Loop Quantum Cosmology ... Sumit Das--- Black Holes and Hawking Evaporation in String Theory Alejandro Corichi--- Black Holes in Loop Quantum Gravity Madhavan Varadarajan--- Black Hole Information Loss Puzzle in LQG Carlo Rovelli--- Graviton Propagator Laurent Freidel--- Low Energy imprints of Quantum Gravity ... Martin Reuter--- Asymptotic safety This is a broad spectrum conference covering all areas---observational, Xray BH study, numerical work, classic GR, gravity wave, CMB, Gravity Probe B. Look at the titles of all 21 talks to get an idea of the scope. Besides the plenary talks there will be 3 parallel sessions, where people divide up to hear talks about their special areas of interest. The three parallel sessions are: I Classical General Relativity and Gravitational Waves II Cosmology III Quantum Gravity The most recent large conference of this type was GRG18 (The 18th international conference on General Relativity and Gravitation) in Sydney, in July 2007. http://www.grg18.com/
