gib65 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 What does the "local" part of local hidden variables mean? Does it mean local to the thing you're measuring or does it mean "having a location"? Or does it means something else entirely?
Spyman Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 In physics, the principle of locality is that distant objects cannot have direct influence on one another: an object is influenced directly only by its immediate surroundings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principle_of_locality
gib65 Posted November 1, 2007 Author Posted November 1, 2007 So it has to do with distance - so "local" means "close to" in this context.
