Sever on my Apple

I have an apple (v10.4.10), I wanted to know if I could host from it using a regular .com url like http://www.something.com without spending money instead of using my IP address?

You'd have to register a domain name, which costs money (about $10 per year). The hard part is getting the domain to point to your computer, as most ISPs don't let you keep the same IP address constantly.
