AliAlawieh Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Does anyone convince me to take nuclear physics as a major, and If yes what is the future of this major and what kind of work it involves?
ecoli Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 is that even offered as an undergrad major in universities?
Phi for All Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Does anyone convince me to take nuclear physics as a major...?Depends on whether your country is friendly with mine or not.
CDarwin Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 is that even offered as an undergrad major in universities? Nuclear engineering is.
ydoaPs Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 You don't need a degree to work in the nuclear field. Does anyone convince me to take nuclear physics as a major, and If yes what is the future of this major and what kind of work it involves? IIRC, a lot of contracts were recently written for power plants, so there is a good future. I guess that's good for me if I decide to go 6-and-out.
NeonBlack Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 You don't need a degree to work in the nuclear field. Homer Simpson?
ydoaPs Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Homer Simpson? Actually, I was thinking of myself and the majority of my co-workers.
tvp45 Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 Actually, I was thinking of myself and the majority of my co-workers. My experience has been that the design and manufacturing requires degrees and the power plants don't. Is that consistent with what you've seen?
