Life on Mars

Hi people, I need to write a paper on the possibility of life on Mars and If yes why and if no why..........I am out of ideas......can a few genius's help me out please??

Look into the early history of the solar system. Or try Wikipedia for starters. Google something like "life mars early solar system planetary formation", and keep adding words until you get it down to <5k results, say.

If there is life on Mars, it's likely some extremely simple life forms (think bacteria and the like), and probably somewhat burried. It would need to be able to survive on the elements available in Martian soil, so you might start by looking at what composes martian dirt and then determine what types of life could live in that. That's just one angle.

 

What are you thinking of doing? Do you have a premise which YOU prefer?

I think that it is berry important that we take a goat space travel to see if there is life on mars.

You could also look at the possibility of liquid water on Mars too. While the existence of liquid water on Mars is uncertain in this day and epoch, it has been suggested that liquid water may have existed in large quantities a long, long time ago. Indeed, there is clear evidence all over the surface of Mars that liquid water may have existed.

Discussion of goats aside, has your question been answered or do you still have more?

Right then, the possibility of life on mars is tied directly to the possibility of liquid water on mars. It is more or less accepted that no liquid water -> no life. If there were liquid water, there would be quite a possibility of finding life there -- though I have my doubts that they would be found. Regardless, it is fairly certain martian life would have to be microbial. One possibility I particularly like is that a few microbes might have been seeded from earth eg when a big meteor hit hard enough to throw earth dirt into space.

Thanks a lot guys.......actually there maybe a subsurface ocean in mars.......look at google mars.......so, if the temperatures are right, there may be liquid water which may result in life

Look into extremeophiles on earth now. Theres plenty to go at and its quite entertaining too.
