Royston Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 That's odd, the festive theme is there when viewing the forums not logged in, but disappears when I'm logged on.
YT2095 Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 sounds like you`r pulling from Cache mem, clear it and try again, it may involve deleting cookies too.
Sayonara Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 It is probably that the default theme has been Xmas-ised, but you are not using the default theme when logged in.
Royston Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 Aye, it was the theme I was using, thanks both.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Ka-fixed. I forgot that the different themes use different header templates... I ought to fix that.
Sayonara Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Ka-fixed. I forgot that the different themes use different header templates... I ought to fix that. That reminds me - some themes still show the "Interviews" link. I suggest nesting content in the header files, so that you only have to change one file to edit the header menu bar for all styles.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Somehow the header template has been edited (and thus vB creates separate copies) in all the templates. I'll see if I can undo that.
Sayonara Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 One day there will be a release of vB which does as it's told.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 There was an old version like that. I think it looked like this: <?php print 'Test'; ?> That was before they added inline moderation and stuff. edit: nope, no way to fix it. I'll just copy over the latest stuff to the other styles.
Sayonara Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I remember that version. The forum worked exactly as specced, but it sure was quiet.
Royston Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 Would it be possible to make the snowman melt? To be in line with AGW, perhaps it should melt a little bit each year...in 50 years time, it'll be nothing more than a crumpled lab coat, and a puddle of water.
doG Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 To be in line with AGW, perhaps it should melt a little bit each year... At the rate things are melting around here, in the coldest temps we've seen in 10 years, that thing will end up covering the whole front page....
iNow Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Would it be possible to make the snowman melt? He's STILL not melting. He's like the energizer bunny.
Royston Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 He's STILL not melting. I'm more than happy to whip up a flamethrower, using Photo Shop.
iNow Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Well, there is a family that lives down the street from me who has had their christmas lights up since 2005. Maybe I'm just a little sensitive. No worries. I was really trying to be lighthearted more than anything else. I was getting bogged down in being the local jerk in some threads on evolution and abiogenesis and needed to post on something completely unrelated.
Royston Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 It's always snowing somewhere! That maybe so, but the purpose of the snowman was for the holiday season, which is long gone. This isn't the Alaska Science Forum afterall, someone please get rid of that thing...pretty please.
