Does Magnesium reacts with cold water. My guess is yes, but in such a way as if it doesn't, very slow. But, some say it doesn't react AT ALL. whats ur take on it! Answer'll be appreciated! Happy Eid and Merry Christmas to all! yes, it does.. it's reactions with water are: Mg + H20 ----> MgO + H2 ----(cold water) Mg + 2H2O ----> Mg(OH)2 + H2 ----(hot water)
