Granular jets

Neat summary that was just emailed to me. Drop a marble onto a bed of fine sand and you get a fluid-like response, but there's no cohesion or surface tension as in a fluid. Also, you get jets of sand from the interactions in the impact void whose behavior depends on the ambient pressure.
