ydoaPs Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Who is Barack Obama? Very interesting and something that should be considered in your choice. If you do not ever forward anything else' date=' please forward this to all your contacts... this is very scarey to think of what lies ahead of us here in our own United States ... better heed this and pray about it and share it. [b']We checked this out on "snopes.com". It is factual. Check for yourself.[/b] Who is Barack Obama? Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu , Hawaii , to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHIEST from Wichita, Kansas . Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii . When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya . His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.? When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocate to Indonesia . Obama attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta . He also spent two years in a Catholic school. Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school." Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that he is not a radical. Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's education. Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta . Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major public office in the United States , Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran. Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegience nor will he show any reverence for our flag. While others place their hands over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches. Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy. The Muslims have said they plan to destroy the US from the inside out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the President of the United States, one of their own!!!! Please forward to everyone you know. Would you want this man leading our country? ...... NOT ME!!! And time for the irony: Snopes's entry on Obama.
gcol Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Could he still be president while living in Gitmo?
iNow Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 It's precisely that level of ignorance that pisses me off. Actually, more precisely, it's the fact that such a large percentage of the US populace will believe it and act according to it. Baahhh... I like how the very website they cite says differently. That IS classic.
gcol Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 It's precisely that level of ignorance that pisses me off. : My comment was made in the spirit (so I thought) of the OP. If your health insurance allows it, perhaps you need to get a humour scan:-) Anyway, I am a fully qualified ignoramus. What are your bona fides?
iNow Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 My comment was made in the spirit (so I thought) of the OP. If your health insurance allows it, perhaps you need to get a humour scan:-) Anyway, I am a fully qualified ignoramus. What are your bona fides? Sorry mate. Was referring to the OP... not your post which came immediately before mine. Besides... I live in the US, where we're all too busy trying to convince the religiots that Barrack Obama is a fundie so we can't elect him instead discussing ways of getting healthcare and medical coverage to those in need. I'm lucky they cover my insulin, let alone a "humor scan." And... there's no U in humor. Oh... I love you double entendre.
Realitycheck Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Oh man, a black undercover Wahabi running for pres. I'm betting the CIA takes him out at the inauguration. Wouldn't that be kewl.
ydoaPs Posted January 11, 2008 Author Posted January 11, 2008 I have two relatives that sent me this e-mail. I sent them a reply merely pointing out the Snopes entry and the irony that they cited Snopes. They both replied to me to the effect that they don't care and have freedom of speech. In America doesn't libel NOT fall under freedom of speech?
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I have two relatives that sent me this e-mail. I sent them a reply merely pointing out the Snopes entry and the irony that they cited Snopes. They both replied to me to the effect that they don't care and have freedom of speech. In America doesn't libel NOT fall under freedom of speech? Send this back to them: ... My purpose here is to stop you from believing in another right that you do not really have, namely, the right to your own opinions. [...] Like so many other views that have at times enjoyed universal assent, however, it isn't true. You don't really have a right to your own opinions. And the idea that you do, besides being false, is forever being invoked when it would be irrelevant even if it were true. [...] Jack has offered some opinion -- that President Bush invaded Iraq to steal its oil, let's say -- with which his friend Jill disagrees. Jill offers some reasons why Jack's opinion is wrong and after a few unsuccessful attempts at answering them, Jack petulantly retorts that he is entitled to his opinion. The fallacy lies in Jack's assumption that this retort is somehow a satisfactory reply to Jill's objections, while, in fact, it is completely irrelevant. Jack and Jill disagreed about Bush's motivation for invading Iraq, and Jill gave reasons to believe that Jack was mistaken. She did not claim that he had no right to this mistaken view. By pointing out that he is entitled to his view, Jack has simply changed the subject from the original topic, the reason Iraq was invaded, to a discussion of his rights. For all it contributes to the invasion question, he may as well have pointed out that whales are warm-blooded or that in Spain it rains mainly on the plains. From the most excellent book Crimes Against Logic, by Jamie Whyte. I highly recommend it.
ydoaPs Posted January 11, 2008 Author Posted January 11, 2008 Another part of the e-mail I sent was addressing that it was implied by the e-mail that there is something wrong with being an atheist or a Muslim. I merely said there wasn't. In the same "freedom of speech" reply my dad sent, he went on to say there's nothing wrong with being an atheist or a Muslim(then, why did he send the first e-mail?). Well, after that, he sent another batch of junk e-mail(I get at least 20 a day just from him). Here it is: "Athiest Holiday" This is living proof that every moron in the world has a right to petition the court--and tie it up with foolishness. Have you heard about this case? Great answer from the judge! In Florida' date='an atheist became incensed over the preparation of Easter and Passover holidays. He decided to contact his lawyer about the discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays while atheists had no holiday to celebrate. The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the long passionate presentation by the lawyer, the Judge banged his gavel and declared, 'Case dismissed!' The lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and said, 'Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and many other observances. Jews havePassover,Yom Kippurand Hanukkah...yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!' The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said, 'Obviously your client is too confused to even know about, much less celebrate his own atheists' holiday!' The lawyer pompously said, 'Your Honor, we are unaware of any such holiday for atheists. Just when might that holiday be, your Honor?' The judge said, 'Well it comes every year on exactly the same date---April 1st! Since our calendar sets April 1st as 'April Fools Day,' consider that Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, in my opinion, if your client says there is no God, then by scripture, he is a fool, and April 1st is his holiday! Now have a good day and get out of my courtroom!! [/quote'] So much for nothing being wrong with being an atheist, eh?
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I'd suggest a mail filter moving those emails to your Junk folder.
iNow Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 It's tough when they come from people you love... to just filter them to the junk mailbox. I get them, too...
Norman Albers Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I do claim to be a born-again Pagan, though I am unsure about the implied theologies, and would appreciate advice. . . .<<I await the decisions of the court in India as to the appearance of HANUMAN in court.>>
john5746 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 It's tough when they come from people you love... to just filter them to the junk mailbox. I get them, too... Nah, not from family...that's why you move away from them.
Sisyphus Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Every few weeks FOX News makes up a new story about Obama and then retracts it a few hours later. It's enough to get the stories out there, and is almost certainly the source of those factual inaccuracies bouncing around the internet. Obama hasn't commented on this publicly, but he has refused to go on any FOX program.
Realitycheck Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I do claim to be a born-again Pagan, though I am unsure about the implied theologies, and would appreciate advice. . . .<<I await the decisions of the court in India as to the appearance of HANUMAN in court.>> Basically, anything goes. I choose to apply it to the most advanced beliefs.
Norman Albers Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Would this country accept a Born-again-Pagan, or a Wiccan for presidential candidate? I doubt it. I do have holidays: May 1 and Halloween, and or course, solstice.
seven8s Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Would this country accept a Born-again-Pagan, or a Wiccan for presidential candidate? I doubt it. I do have holidays: May 1 and Halloween, and or course, solstice. Sorry, I don't think that's a Pagan, that's a Tin Man. <w>
DrDNA Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Would this country accept a Born-again-Pagan, or a Wiccan for presidential candidate? I doubt it. I do have holidays: May 1 and Halloween, and or course, solstice. I can't speak for the rest of the country, but I can say with some certainty that I would not.
Realitycheck Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 You would have to start your own belief system, like the Falun Gong, and rise to unprecedented popularity because of such an uncomplicated, simple message, get elected, and then assasinated by some crazy Christian insisting that you're the Antichrist. Of course, that probably won't happen for another 1,000 years.
Norman Albers Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I do have the Rev. Norm's Unification Church.
John Cuthber Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I was thinking about the court case Yourdadonapogos cited earlier. I supose the judge looked amazingly smug as he said that. Presumable he looked a bit less so when someone pointed out that 1 Even if you believe that the word of Christ is always true, the bible was written many years later so it is hearsay and legally inadmissible. 2 April fool's day is not a holiday so it has no relevance to the case.
Norman Albers Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I'm afraid some people just don't get the separation of church and state that most of the rest of us figured out a few hundred years ago.
seven8s Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 John CuthberApril fool's day is not a holiday so it has no relevance to the case. You do know what happened to the fool and his money, correct; they were soon departed. The judge and the lawyer celebrated over a game of gulf. Champagne for everyone, little bubbly.
