why they are called sulphured mustards?

I think he probably means the group of compounds used in chemical warfare.. ie mustard gas.

I hope not, those types of compounds are really quite nasty and Very unforgiving!

 

not to mention that doing so would likely break more laws than it`s worth counting!

yes, i was reffering to the warfare mustards but, i don't want to break any law, it was just for curiosity, because it's a strange name for a warfare compund, i mean, what have to see the mustard with the sluphur, just the color i think...

I was taught in grad school that the mustard part refers to their propensity to cause blisters on the skin and irritate the lungs. I also saw in the link that mustard refers to the smell.....hmmm...

 

In any case, breaking the law would be the least of your worries.

 

Like several other agents of chemical warfare that were banned by the Geneva Convention, these are not too difficult too synthesize, but really, really nasty.
