I`d be Very hesitant to say it that way, better to consider it Less Negative or Electron Deficient

Cathode produces electrons... I don't know if the same principle applies in batteries but I know that it is a feature of metals that when heated they release electrons, then these electrons are absorbed by anode and this (if I remember) is called thermoelectronic emission...

Probably! But as soon as I saw electron release from negative terminal ,CR came to my mind. Though I had a doubt of posting or not since it's a bit of off-topic.
