anabourdais Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I know that 5 vol H2O2 is equal to 0.44moldm-3. in my experiment i used 5cm3 of 5vol. i then diluted this, using 4cm3 of 5 vol H2O2 and 1cm3 distilled H2O. How do i work out the concentration of this? I have tried various methods and...(this may be stupid and very wrong but i wanted to show i'd tried!) if 4 is 80% of 5 then can you find 80% of 0.44? - meaning 4cm3 H2O2 + 1cm3 H2O would have a concentration of 0.32 moldm-3..is this correct? through this method i have worked out that: 3cm3 H2O2 + 2cm3 H2O = 0.264 moldm-3 2cm3 H2O2 + 3cm3 H2O = 0.176 moldm-3 1cm3 H2O2 + 4cm3 H2O = 0.08 moldm-3 0.5cm3 H2O2 + 4.5cm3 H2O = 0.044 moldm-3 Help greatly appreciated!

How do i work out the concentration of this? If you know the concentration in the first solution, then you can find out the second one by: [math]c_1V_1=c_2V_2[/math]
