insane_alien Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 not precisely. only a perfect gas will occupy 22.4 litres at STP. ammonia is not a perfect gas. the closest we have is helium. the volume occupied also changes with temperature, and pressure. so if atmospheric conditions are not standard where the experiment is caried out then you will get a different volume.
