bio.chem.phy Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Hi! Does anyone know a good, controlled method to test the tensile strength of hair? Thanks
Dak Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 1 thread per thing, please. i've deleted your other one. off the top of my head, if you only want a rough estimate couldn't you tie a hair to a newtometer and incrimentally attach weights till the hair breaks?
CaptainPanic Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 you could even do without the newtometer... hang weights on the hair, and see when it breaks. If you know how much weight was hanging on the hair right before it broke, you have an answer. The big trick will be to actually tie more and more things to the hair
