KS42 Posted April 4, 2008 Author Posted April 4, 2008 Hello. A few more images to study. A view of the face. I was able to smooth out or reduce the noise.
iNow Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Have you never noticed shapes in clouds? Look, Timmy... That one there... it looks like insanity.
JohnB Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Am I the only one who can see the laughing pig in a pirate hat in the last pic in post 3?
insane_alien Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 haha i can see it too. PROOF THAT MARS IS COLONIZED BY HAPPY PIGS!!!!11one1!!!
mooeypoo Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Hello. A sample of some images on my website. Study carefully. Remember, These images are directly from the ESA/Mars Express website. All I did was to enlarge them 1.5X to 2.0X, seperate colors, adjust contrast, and some filtering... [PICTURES REMOVED FROM QUOTE] Here are a few very good articles for you to consider, KS: http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/misc/hoagland/ http://www.badastronomy.com/bablog/2006/09/21/hoagland-still-wrong-about-face-on-mars/ And consider the effect called "Pareidolia": http://www.physics.smu.edu/pseudo/Observ/ http://skepdic.com/pareidol.html The term pareidolia (pronounced /pæraɪˈdoʊliə/), referenced in 1994 by Steven Goldstein,[1] describes a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant. Common examples include images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon, and hidden messages on records played in reverse. The word comes from the Greek para- — beside, with or alongside — and eidolon — image (the diminutive of eidos — image, form, shape). Pareidolia is a type of apophenia. Source: Wikipedia((Yes, it's wikipedia, but it's a decent start - the resources in that specific article are pretty good)). And finally, this is a REALLY awesome video about "man on the moon" photos and Pareidolia: So: The brain is far from perfect. We evolved to see and recognize patterns when images aren't really there. The images you shared with us show different shapes and lose their "effect" when taken from a different angle. And lastly, having such 'shapes and faces' on mars has a bigger meaning than just paredolia... it has implications on history, "UFOlogy" and science in general. So allow me to remind you that "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". Having a face on mars means there are intelligent life in the universe that visit(ed/ing?) us is quite extremely extraordinary. Images that only look the way they do in one angle and from a specific enlargement are not sufficient evidence. ~moo

Phi for All Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Strange Martian geology......Images speak for themselves...I didn't hear a thing. How about my image? Did I miss any faces?Your faces are feces. Unless... we maybe could sell the Sad Lion image to Disney for the Narnia movies....
insane_alien Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 yes, mars has some interesting geology, and it is exactly that, geology, not architecture or landscaping.
mooeypoo Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 So, he has no answers, and he's trolling... should I act shocked or just surprised?
iNow Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 So, he has no answers, and he's trolling... should I act shocked or just surprised? I see it more as spam for his site than trolling. I saw a purple unicorn in one of his pictures, which is clear insight that leprechauns are up there performing fellatio on one another.
Sayonara Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Unless anyone has any photos of Martian elephants or berries they'd like to share? Perhaps not.
