ydoaPs Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Who hacked ScienceForums.Net to make it so typographically challenged? I'm pointing my finger at Cap.
YT2095 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 what problem / challenge? my typing is fine! and I notice nothing different?
ydoaPs Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 ParanoiA, try a thread about G.L.O.B.A.L. W.A.R.M.I.N.G.
Phi for All Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Sorry but that was so annoying I turned it off.Thank ye for taking teh pity on us.
iNow Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 While it was somewhat of a pain in the ass, I have to concede that it was a damned clever idea. ye teh June phools.
Phi for All Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Substituting all instances of the word "scientist" with the word "theologian" was diabolical. Using the swear filters to make all those substitutions was pretty clever and easily fixable. And the Admins could rig it themselves and keep the rest of the Staff in the dark. Rigging usernames was funny since they only showed up in quotes. The best was switching all instances of "global warming" with "omg ponies!" Well done ye squiffy red-letter Aprilministrators!!
Phi for All Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I still think Cap'n.No, Cap'n's mind wouldn't work that way. Anal types like us just cringe at misspellings. This has blikey boy written all over it.
blike Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 At least no one got rickrolled. Seems like every site is doing it today, even youtube.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Blast it. I was having some fun, too. I wanted to see the aftermath of it... I went to bed after I turned it on (Yes, it was me. I set it up without asking blike, even.) Here's the complete list of switches: "the" => "teh" "physics" => "fizzics" "chemicals" => "chemicalz" "SFN" => "The Amazing WünderSite" "Refsmmat" => "Refreshment" "April" => "June" "Google" => "FWSE" "global warming" => "omg ponies!!!11!" "Pangloss" => "Pnagless" "blike" => "blikey boy" "Cap'n" => "Cappy" "iNow" => "iThen" "ecoli" => "ebola", "thedarkshade" => "thelightray" "Phi for All" => "Pi for Some" "strawman" => "thisisthelaststraw, man" "deny" => "confirm" "denier" => "advocate" "school" => "torture chamber" "dimension" => "dimmensinon" "universe" => "that big thing that all the stuff is in, you know?" "Republican" => "Democrat" "Obama" => "Clinton" "Hillary" => "Obama" "scientist" => "theologian" "yourdadonapogos" => "tick" "Rakdos" => "Rack Those" "you " => "ye " "are " => "art " "love" => "<3" "vBulletin" => "vCowetin" "administrator" => "God" "pseudoscience" => "science" We only hit about half of those, I think. I should have locked everyone else out of the admin panel... Hasn't anybody caught the logo yet?
iNow Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Yeah, I saw the logo this morning after I noticed the jacked up text... I have to admit, it was fun seeing "ye" and "art" all of the time. Instead of "you are." Nicely played. I wonder if any noobs got confused? I know some more veteran folks did.
Daecon Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 The snowman didn't even register. I looked at it a hundred times and didn't think it odd. I art teh dumb.
blike Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Cap'n actually got me with the logo. I saw it yesterday morning and though "well damn, no one's changed the christmas logo since...christmas".
YT2095 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 well it`s certainly a refreshing change Not to be implicated in something for once
Phi for All Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I have to admit, it was fun seeing "ye" and "art" all of the time. Instead of "you are."I liked that as well. Whenever I see "ye" the voice reading in my head switches to a pirate accent. Maybe we should have Cappy work up some more for Talk Like A Pirate Day this year.
