Im aware theyre size is so neglibible, something to the order of 10 ^-32, that it would not matter even, but im curious to know. If they dont have mass, are they just a force then?

Now, if strings are in everything, atoms, fermions.. does that mean they compose these particles and the only differentiating characteristic is its resonance pattern?

Everything that has matter has mass. So, yes it does have mass. Even though it is tiny. Nut not for the scale of atoms. There must be millions of atoms in a piece of string!

if it`s of any use, I was told that "Strings" are like the Nuclear forces that hold atoms together, note the word LIKE, so as far as I`m aware they do not posses MASS, not even in the same way that a photon in certain models can be said to be a particle even.

it`s some sort of ineffible quality that`s not encountered in everyday life :)

please don`t take this post as FACT, it`s just what I was taught/told and so I could be WAY OFF!

damn i sure like this new forum... pressing on..

my original numbers were slightly off; 10^-34... even smaller.

Thats what i originally thought. They are not tangible, so to speak, but as yt said, a force that exists.
