dom3mo Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I was wondering if this would work. If I mixed sodium chloride, and hydrogen peroxide, then I would add hydrochloric acid into the mixture. Would that work. Note "I don't plan on making this yet until I have the right safety protection stuff".
YT2095 Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 you`ll have made a mixture of all 3, there would be no reaction take place, and you`ll certainly Not make sodium peroxide.
John Cuthber Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I'm not sure about " no reaction". With the right conditions you might get oxidation of the HCl to Cl2. However, there's no way to get sodium peroxide that way, it's barely stable in water and it's certainly not stable in acids. Among the "right safety protection stuff" is a good idea of what you are doing. Your best not to try this sort of thing until you have that.
TJames Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Is there any particular reason why you can't just buy it?
