Tim Berners-Lee at CERN, that science place where they collide particles and stuff. So it's little surprise that one of the first images to end up on tha intarwebs was this early design of LHC's ATLAS detector: http://info.cern.ch/NextBrowser1.html Yes, unfortunately it's covered with crap, but compare with this rendering of the final version: Pretty cool, eh?
