really wondering if people have already exploited the hot and cold of our atmosphere for energy???? could'nt it be the best ever energy?

pure and endless...temperature as a booster...maybe ufos work that way...

let me know what u think...thanx

What do you mean by the hot and cold o' our atmos?

You mean the sun's rays? Cause we're already harnessing those, and as far as I teh know, that's what makes teh atmosphere teh warm.

We already do that. It's called wind.

Actually I would not be surprised at all if UFOs were powered by wind. :)

That's probably not what you had in mind.

Some submarines are powers by the temperature difference between the cold ocean water and a hot hunk of radioactive crap.

I think the problem of trying to use this on a large scale is that it's not easy to find a huge temperature gradient over a reasonable distance.

yes!!!! seebeck effect and peltier's effect...a conversion of temperature into electricity is somehow what i wanted...the idea of charge carriers and thermodynamic equilibrium, and thermoelectric cooling...

but maybe with the latest technology energy related...i mean maybe with the sun rays as i've read before...??or without ...if we can use cold...space is supposed to have very cold places...no?

update me on this please...

thanx.

Space is cold but not a particularly good reservoir for a traditional heat engine, since it doesn't have much of a heat capacity, being a vacuum and all. You have to rely on radiation for your heat transfer.

there`s also Mechanical means using monoflow stirling engines and Butane as the heat transfer gas medium.

How could you try it with space?

Cold fusion has never been found to be reproducible and is therefore not considered to be true.
