Asto Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Dear members, does anyone know a reference to a paper where it is explained in details how to numerically solve non-linear Boltzmann equation with non-zero collision integral (hard sphere case) I also interested in solving numerically conservative Euler equations. Any paper or link to a numeric scheme descriptions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much! A.P.
Bignose Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 there are several books that I am familiar with: Modeling and Computational Methods for Kinetic Equations by Degond, Pareschi, and Russo. and The Fokker-Planck Equation by Risken and Frank Any good CFD (computational fluid dynamics) book will show techniques on how to solve the Euler equations because they are a good test case to build up to solving the Navier-Stokes equations.
