Hello everyone,I was hoping someone could give me some microscope advice.......I was looking for find a microscope that would work best for looking at samples in petri dishes....like actually being able to put the petri dish under the microscope....if anyone has any good suggestions on a brand, type, model anything like that I would really appreciate. You need what is called an "inverted microscope". In this case the light source is on top and the objective lenses are underneath the stage. Thus they are closer to the bottom of the petri dish or culture dish and can focus in on it. Go to Google and search under "inverted microscope".

If you are looking at mammalian cells, you want a "phase contrast inverted microscope".
