Hey i was wondering if anyone knew these questions.

1) Analyse the potential danger of loose objects in a vehicle. include a discussion on inertia in this analysis.

2)Discuss the addition of crumple zones and air bags to cars with respect to the concepts of impulse and momentum.

If anyone could give me the formulas used to work this out it would be great :D

Thanks

1) Use Newton's 2nd law. I think the obvious one is in case of a crash (sudden decceleration), ie. passenger not tightly secured with a seat belt.

2) I dont' know what a crumple zone is.

Momentum is p=mv. Use the conservation of momentum for systems involving a collision.

A crumple zone is an area in the front of the car that is made especially to be weak.

This way, when the car crashes, this crumple zone reduces the amount of energy given to the driver. So the kinetic energy is reduced! Hope that helps!
