Reaper Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Can anyone post a math tutorial about a given subject? Or are admins and mods only allowed to do that? What kind of math topics can I post about. I would like to write one up...
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 If you'd like to write one, I'll open up the drafting forum to you so you can start coming up with stuff. Once you have something written, we'll review it all and publish it as a GUT. What sort of math would you like to cover?

Reaper Posted May 29, 2008 Author Posted May 29, 2008 If you'd like to write one, I'll open up the drafting forum to you so you can start coming up with stuff. Once you have something written, we'll review it all and publish it as a GUT. What sort of math would you like to cover? Some topics on vector calculus, and an intro into tensors and suffix notation. Nothing too complicated in those topics though, I only know the basics so far (writing some will also help me retain understanding of math topics, don't want to leave my brain to rot over the summer ). I can also give an intro into multivariable calculus if you wish.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Sounds like a plan. You should now be able to see the GUT-writing forum. Feel free to post an outline of the tutorial you'd like to do first, and then get started.

Ok, just got one started. Feel free to check it out.
Royston Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 As the basics of differentiation have been covered, I'd be happy to do an introduction to integration, i.e explaining the FTC. I'm busy with an assignment, but could spare a couple of hours on Sunday.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Feel free to head over to the GUT forum (which you should now be able to see) and pop into yourdadonapogos' thread on the subject -- he intended to start an integration tutorial but hasn't had any time.
the tree Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 It looks like I've got plenty of time to kill at the moment so I was thinking of writing a really basic tutorial on polynomial division and partial fractions. Can I, please?
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Take a peek down the index page and find the GUT forum. You can start writing there.
the tree Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Awesome, I've written a first part but I'm going to await feedback before I plough on.
Genecks Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Forget that stuff. We need to have workbooks. Yes, we need workbooks with solutions. And all the problems need to relate to science!
Guest m0tvl Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 hullo genecks: you can't travel far on this planet, it only goes in circles.
RAJESHKUMAR110 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I wanted to know the textbook of calculas which is good
DJBruce Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I was just wondering if GUT was going to continue anytime soon. I know Cap'n told me that they were on hold for a while.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I may have some time to lengthen the calculus GUT now that it's break time. I'll see if I can get some more of that done.
