There seems to be an issue since you upgraded to the latest version of vBulletin. I've noticed the exact same issue on another forum which also just upgraded.

Here is an example.

In this thread, there are 374 posts:

http://www.scienceforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=6390&page=19

However, when looking at the summary of that thread from the Astronomy and Cosmology forum page:

http://www.scienceforums.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=15

... it shows 385 Replies.

This is causing the system to show 20 pages within the thread, even though there are only 19. So, you click the 20, and nothing happens, it directs you back to the same page you're on (page 19).

I've tried to illustrate this with my screenshot below.

I just had vBulletin run a recount (and the Supreme Court didn't have to be called in). If it keeps happening, I'll have to start beating it with a stick.

Looks like it's time to break out the stick. It's happening again. Here's where I noticed it:

... but it's likely elsewhere, also.

Additionally, I'm still experiencing this weirdness every so often:

Ran a recount again. I'm unable to experience the problem (it's probably created because of deleted posts in the thread, and I can see those anyway), so is it still happening to you?

There is an ongoing issue in VBulletin in which postcounts can vary in different bits of the site. It's because some bits are produced dynamically, and others produced occasionally then saved as a "chunk". Usually it is resolved through normal page rebuilding, but occasionally an admin needs to re-synch all the stats, rebuild the indexes, and purge the flux capacitors.

This is the first time I have heard of that particular symptom though. We shall name it "iNow's Phantom Pagination Syndrome", or IPPS for short.

Is IPPS still a factor if you're only going 87 mph, or does it's threshold of relevance reside at 88mph? I only ask because we all know how those flux capacitors can result in a break within the spacetime continuum.

Also, more importantly, I think this is the first syndrome I've had which could not be treated with penicillin. Will it burn when I urinate? :D

I believe Capn was upgrading vB to the latest version. This may or may not cure the bug, I guess.

This is one of the known side-effects, yes :P Others include a sudden obsession to count the floral patterns on random plates to make sure they match ;)

It looks like IPPS has reared its ugly head again. Should we perhaps try Ampicillin this time? ;)
