Ice_Phoenix87 Posted April 3, 2004 Posted April 3, 2004 does anyone know where i can find infomation and diagrams on ionic compounds in terms of repeating three-dimensional lattices of ions? Can anyone identify which common elements exist as molecules or as covalent lattices? Describe the physical properties of conductivity used to classify compounds as ionic or covalent molecular or covalent network? thanx so much
Crash Posted April 3, 2004 Posted April 3, 2004 covalent dosent conduct, neither does network or dative, they are usually stated if they are lattice structured, but you learn which are and which arent, ionic only conduct when molten or aqueous Lattice NaCl, graphite..the list is far to big Molecules CO2,H2O,Br2 only solids are lattice, either amphorus or crystalline
