I think the problem most people have with the 2nd amendment is a lack of education. They do not understand the era and history behind it. They have not studied any of the Congressional debates that took place over the Bill Of Rights as a whole. Most have little or no idea at all about the Constitutions of the States and Bills of Rights of the States that the founders used as models for our Federal Constitution and its own amendments. Then again, I encounter very few people today that can even name their current representative or Senators. In general I find most people's understanding of our Government appalling.
