Some one told me that in the ion, we always write oxygen last, although it is positive(since cation always is written first)... for eg, SO4, but why we write OH instead of HO as a compound ion?

Any help>

SO4 is an acidic ion as is NO3, OH is an alkaline ion.

as a general rule of thumb most inorganic compounds are writen in order of electronegativity from the most electro positive to the most electronegative :)
