How much heat is released from the reaction of aluminum chloride and water? Yes, I've tried google. No, I don't have a calcinator. Now I could get really clever with some thermometers and styrofoam, but that wouldn't be very accurate, and would be a bit difficult to keep the reaction in an enclosed space with the large quantities of gas released, and I was rather hoping someone here might be able to help. Thanks :)

you'll need to specify more details, anyway. For instance, are you doing this reaction at standard conditions or non-standard ones? You'll have to use entropy as YT says

have you tried looking up Entropy equations for it?

Yes, I have. I suppose I'll just have to try to measure it, and just remember it might be a bit off. Thanks though

A good calorimeter can be quite accurate. However, if you have the exact details of the conditions, the data should be available to be able to calculate it

aluminum chloride's entropy and enthalpy of formation should both be available in any chemistry textbook
