Here's a great artilce that gives tons of well researched detail on your question (which is also known as "sexual dimorphism"). Take your time with it, and look up the words you don't understand. I think you'll come away much more knowledgable and have a greater understanding. :)

iNow, that link carries alot of information regarding autoimmune diseases, however the original poster would like a summary of what it is that makes autoimmune diseases more prevalent in women than in men and not have to read the whole article.

So why don't you offer one then? Were I to ask such a question, that's exactly the type of article I'd want in response. I'd read it, and then ask more questions. Further, I DID quote a summary. :rolleyes:
