Help with egg launcher...

Well I am thinking about a making an egg launcher maybe a trebuchet or something like that, but I was wondering if it would be possible to launch an egg on something like this a great distance... As in about 320 meters or so? I have read that Medieval Trebuchet's could throw heavy projectiles this distance(50kg-100kg) but I was wondering what about eggs cuz they have liquid in the center? And how big would it have to be?

If that is not enough, use the search function of the forum. I am sure that there are more "egg launcher" threads...

 

You will need to focus on the maximum acceleration that an egg can withstand. Then find out how long you can accelerate it (what is the distance along which it will accelerate, or how long can you accelerate it?)... and then find out, using standard physics (ballistics) how far it will fly (assume zero air friction, and realize that it will be less far than you calculated... also realize that the egg is not likely to survive).

 

If all else fails, ask the Dreil for advice: "the Dreil focus their efforts in producing a massive powerful egg launcher"... [Disclaimer: the Dreil might be slightly fictional].

HMmm... I need something that can launch objects really far and the egg doesnt have to survive... As long as the yoke lands about 300 meters away from the launch pad... Doesn't have to be an egg... COuld be any small fruit really.

How big can your machine be? Is there any limitation? If there isn't, I'd suggest an airplane or a rocket. A cannon can launch things without moving too much itself. Birds are also capable or transporting eggs over large distances.

 

(I think a little more info is needed... because there are too many options).

There are some limitations... It needs to be no greater than 40 feet long or so. If I could make some kinda cannon that would probably work. I have been watching youtube videos of some Air Cannons that look like they may be able to get the job done.
