Monomer Posted September 2, 2008 Share Posted September 2, 2008 According to this site, "Other causes include any process filling the air spaces with blood, fluid, or inflammatory cells. Alveolar collapse (atelectasis) also causes consolidation." This book mentions TB as a cause of pulmonary consolidation, along with systemic lupus erythematosus, carcinoma, pulmonary infarction, immunological disorders (sarcoidosis), adult respiratory distress syndrome.
