Klaynos Posted August 19, 2008 Share Posted August 19, 2008 The earth is attracted towards the sun. The earth is continually falling towards the sun, but it keeps missing or orbiting... That's because the earth has a tangential velocity from the sun so ass the sun accelerates the earth towards it this just has the effect of curving the path of the earth....
