YT2095 Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 over what time period do we answer? I do about 200, in banks of 50, 100 in the morning and 100 before bedtime. never seen the point in doing more really.
Crash Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Dont do push ups, my equivalnt it pull 12.5Kg 50 times on each arm morning and night
YT2095 Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 actualy, I wouldn`t do any at all if it wasn`t for the fact that it`s a habit now and helps me sleep and wake up better. normaly if I have to work that hard, I want paying for it )
bloodhound Posted April 16, 2004 Author Posted April 16, 2004 yeah , i find that if i do some push ups i can go to sleep quicker. but i am too lazy. and not consistent with my exercise.
biggles Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 30 well done with the elbows close to the torso and bending until the chest is near the floor. If you want to try some tough ones try doing with the tip of your fingers or closed fists.
bloodhound Posted April 19, 2004 Author Posted April 19, 2004 nope , the really tough one is u push up from the floor and clap ur hands behind ur back and have to get them to the front again for the landing. and keep doing that 40 times at a go!! i saw that in a fitness mag. it was under "Harcore Exercises" i can manage to touch my hips. but no way i can clap my hands behind my back. it require to push urself up upto 45 degress. there was a sequece of pics in the mag where some guy was doing it. i used to do with close fists but cant be bothered nowadays

I do push-ups claping hands but never heard of claping hands behind your back, I'll try that some day. But that trains your speed and reaction, doing push-ups on the tips of your fingers or with closed fists trains your finger and wrist strenght.
bloodhound Posted April 19, 2004 Author Posted April 19, 2004 . But that trains your speed and reaction, doing push-ups on the tips of your fingers or with closed fists trains your finger and wrist strenght. have u seen bruce lee do a one hand push up with two fingers? absolutely mad. saw a clip from some documentary
Crash Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Yea taht is mad. i tried doing a one arm pushup, it seems impossible, well for me....
biggles Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 have u seen bruce lee do a one hand push up with two fingers? absolutely mad. saw a clip from some documentary How about a shaolin monk doing it standing upside down using one finger of each hand? I had a better picture than this one of one monk training this while other two hold his legs vertically but I lost it...
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Try one-handed push-ups with someone sitting on you. I saw a 12 year old do it.

[Tycho?] Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Around 30. 20 triangle pushups, where you put your arms together so that your thumb and forefinger meet. I do those so my hands are around my stomach, pretty tough. Also 20 with closed fists. I usually stop those because my fists hurt.
Tesseract Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 What does how many pushups can you do? have anything to do with science. 40-50
Radagast Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Probably around 35-40. Personally, I feel that using dumb bell excercise's work alot better, thus hardly ever do pushups.
bloodhound Posted May 23, 2004 Author Posted May 23, 2004 ''] I usually stop those because my fists hurt. i have a pretty strong fist. i usually go round punching walls and stuff. I made a massive dent on my flats plaster. wish i had a camera. my wrist was out for a week. simple things like turning the door handle or turning the tap on was virtually impossible
Tesseract Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 I made a massive dent on my flats plaster. wish i had a camera. my wrist was out for a week. What are the dimensions of the dent?
bloodhound Posted May 23, 2004 Author Posted May 23, 2004 there are actually two dents. the bigger one made by my Middle knuckle and the smaller one by the one on the right of the middle. The bigger one has approx dimensions. of 2 cm in diameter and about 4-5 mm in deep at its deepest the smaller has diameter of about 1.5cm and about 2-3 mm deep. But u have to see it to really appreciate how big it is.
Sayonara Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 u have to see it to really appreciate how big it is. ha ha ha ha haaa .... sorry
bloodhound Posted May 23, 2004 Author Posted May 23, 2004 ha ha ha ha haaa .... sorry yeah , and that as well
Tesseract Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Ohh, I though you would have punched a hole in the wall. I was thinking 4 m diameter.
Tesseract Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 He'd have to have pretty big fists to do that. Or he would have to have very poor grade plaster.
