seagael Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 I have to do a project in Pre-calculus on careers that use math. I was wondering if someone here has an interesting job that deals with math? I have to have an interview.plz help me! thanks
Klaynos Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 I'm a physics research student. One of my friends with a maths degree models traffic flows for a company, it's quite interesting. Modelling financial markets. There's lots
insane_alien Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 i'm a chemical engineering student, without calculus we'd be doing nothing more than guessing most of the time.
DrP Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Any job in science needs maths. Also for any statistical study.
seagael Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 I cant interview students and i cant interview teachers, unless u r a student or teacher that also has a job in math, except for learning it or teaching it.
ajb Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 As a research student I am trying to develop mathematics not simply learn it.
Klaynos Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 One of my friends actually feels slightly embarrassed when she says she's a student as they then ask how old she is... So she now just says "research scientist"
ajb Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I feel that you need a PhD to call yourself a "research scientist". There for I call my self a student. However, as you know people don't know there is a difference between undergrad or taught grad student and a grad research student.
