xinkaifish Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Dear gentleman/lady: I’m a student in University of Akron. I want to buy some “carboxyl functionalized glass spheres” with 300nm diameter. I checked the some website, such as Duke and Bangs. It is pity that only the glass spheres above 3 microns (µm) are available. Can anyone give me some advice about “carboxyl functionalized glass spheres” with 300nm diameter? Thanks and best wishes to you! Best Regards
big314mp Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 What exactly do you mean by “carboxyl functionalized glass spheres” and what are you trying to do with them? I think that information may help the people here help you. Best of luck, and welcome to SFN!
YT2095 Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I look forwards to seeing an answer to this also, particles of 3 microns (far Infrared) to 300nm (UV) would make for some interesting optical filters and effects

These glass will have some special optical effects if they mix with some polymers. If there are no glass beads with COOH groups, glass beads without COOH groups are also Ok for me.
