dichotomy
When eating or drinking from glass containers, do we consume any microscopic particles of glass? And if so, are they harmful to ones health over time?
big314mp
I would imagine that it would have the same effect as eating small amounts of sand or dirt, since both are mostly SiO2. In short, unless the glass bits are big enough to cut, I'd say they are too inert to cause any damage.
jdurg
I would actually like to know how simply drinking out of a glass will cause microscopic particles to come off. Glass is basically a liquid (It is not a solid mass) and is very tightly bound to itself.
