bascule Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Interesting story from the Politico: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/14088.html Apparently McCain began disseminating word that he build the winning coalition to pass the bailout bill hours before it failed. This was subsequently followed hours later by McCain accusing Obama of "politicizing" the bailout and not putting "country first". You know, one presidential candidate is certainly seeming almost clownishly "partisan"
Pangloss Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Nancy Pelosi isn't a presidential candidate. But on a more serious note, I noticed a quote from Sarah Palin along the lines of "thank goodness John McCain managed to get all those conditions added to the bill". I had to struggle not to puke.
Realitycheck Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I don't believe this guy. On a live speech right now, McCain stated how we have 10 trillion dollars of national debt and how we have to reign that in, and how we cannot "tax our way to prosperity", all in one sentence without taking responsibility for amassing the debt and not explaining his pipe dream on how to pay for everything on the table including the debt itself without raising taxes. This was just too much.
