So I was absent the day it was discussed in class, so I want some help.

 

Here's the question from the book I'm using:

" Write the electron dot structure for the compounds formed from the combination of the given pairs of elements. Identify the bonds formed between them."

 

So what topics should I read about, and how is it done?

You just put in the e's in the outer shell and pair them up. The I don't know how to draw them on here so I looked a couple up on line - this site looked like it explained it well with some good diagrams:

Or type 'electron dot diagrams' into google - there is alot more reading there.
