ecoli Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/16/al-smith-dinner-obama-mcc_n_135455.html It's good to see that the candidates can make fun of each other and themselves without it being personal. This was a really good idea at this point before the election. It lets the voters know that we're all still human. I thought Obama's speech was particularly funny. better quality mccain video:
Pangloss Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 That was a riot. Very funny stuff. Thanks for passing it along. The McCain link on that site's a little messed -- it cuts off some very funny stuff at the opening, and the audio is a little unsynced. I found some better links and pasted them below. iNow Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Oh poo... I just posted this in the debate thread. Hadn't seen yours. C-span has the whole thing in one link: http://www.c-spanarchives.org/library/index.php?main_page=product_video_info&products_id=281814-1 I was really glad to laugh, and see some of the human side of these guys for a change.
john5746 Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Very good, especially McCain. Can you imagine Bush and Kerry doing this?
iNow Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Couldn't find Bush/Kerry, but found Bush/Gore: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6sp9sdfG98
Mr Skeptic Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I'll be sure to have a look when I return home. Their first debate was a joke, but it would be refreshing to have a look at how they do when they are joking on purpose.
