Anti-Atheist bigotry in State Politics

Linking a politician to atheists is a winning strategy in the US.

Kay Hagan has taken legal action against U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole for a television ad linking Hagan to atheist advocates. Hagan filed the lawsuit today. Hagan had given Dole until Noon today to stop running the ad, which critized Hagan’s attendence at a fundraiser hosted by a member of the Godless Americans commiteee. The ad states, “Godless Americans and Kay Hagan. She hid from cameras. Took godless money. What did Hagan promise in return?” Then, a voice meant to sound like Hagen’s, says, “There is no God.” Hagen claims the voice is not hers.

 

Not sure I agree with the lawsuit, but I do agree with the sentiment

Depressing, really. Thank goodness PZ retracted his support for Hagan. Hagan's response in all of this is very telling... not that I think much of Dole for her attacks.

YES! Dole was beaten. Thank...umm...the people.
