MicroGirl Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 HI, I was just wondering if it was ok to store your PCR in -4C overnight and thawing to do a PCR clean up the next day? Will this screw up my results or should it be ok to do THanks, Christy.
CharonY Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Are you referring to PCR products? That is, your finalized PCR? If so there is no problems with that. If it is only o/n you can also store it at 4°C, especially longer products are less likely to get damaged that way.
ecoli Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 you can program your thermocycler to go to 4C after the reaction is complete. That was you can start your program, go home, and have a PCR product waiting for you the next morning.
CharonY Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Yes, however if you use a very cheap cycler be careful regarding condensation that may occur. Some are not that spill-proof as they should.
